Join our dynamic Global DevOps group at Applied Materials, where we are dedicated to developing the next generation DevOps infrastructure. Our team is responsible for maintaining the reliability, support, and high availability of our operational environment. We enable the Research & Development group to leverage CI/CD tools, infrastructure, and automations to drive innovation and efficiency.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a global group responsible for handling on-prem and cloud initiatives, planning, executing, and reporting on various infrastructure and code projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our DevOps processes and systems.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Develop and maintain the next generation DevOps infrastructure.
- Ensure the reliability, SRE, and high availability of the operational environment.
- Enable the Research & Development group to use CI/CD tools, infrastructure, and automations
- Handle on-prem and cloud initiatives, including SRE, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DevOps processes and systems.
- Implement best practices for DevOps and infrastructure management.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Familiarity with Networking, Linux Administrator and Windows
- Proven scripting skills in Bash and Python, Groovy.
- Proficiency with virtualized and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Helm and Docker).
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and respective tool chain
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer as DevOps solutions Developer
- Bachelors/Masters-Degree of Engineering in CS or IT or equivalent.
- At least 6 years experience in Building and managing production critical CI/CD systems, pipelines and solutions
- Proven experience in DevOps, with a focus on CICD, monitoring, branching, release process, and environment management.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, infrastructure, and automation.
- Experience with on-prem and cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
- Familiarity with system monitoring and centralized logging platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Loki).
- Knowledge of artifact and container registry tools (e.g., Artifactory)
