What You'll Do

As a Financial Analyst for our Applied Global Services group in Applied Materials you will be responsible for value-add financial support to cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of financial and operational goals of our Spares and Service business.

This role is located at our European Finance Headquarters in Hoofddorp, Netherlands and is a permanent full-time position.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the in quarter or actual activities for our spares and service divisions, which also includes becoming a business partner for Field Service Organization (FSO), and Sales in managing the overall P&L performance for Service and Spares business
  • Ensures the accurate and timely recording of revenue-related transactions in accordance with the Company's revenue recognition policy.
  • Analyses and tracks revenue and cost streams against budget, prepares reports and trend analysis on a periodic basis and provides narrative and follow up actions to key stakeholders
  • Tracks labour hour trends to analyse utilization of workforce
  • Tracks spares consumption against forecast, and provide analysis accordingly
  • Analyses movements in gross margin of customer service contracts and provides explanation of variances to budget and proposes corrective actions if and when needed
  • Performs the monthly close tasks, including revenue accruals, deferred revenue management, spending reviews, margin reviews, account reconciliations and other duties as necessary
  • Owns SOX controls in the areas of revenue and cost
  • Supports internal and external audits and the preparation of the quarterly balance sheet review package
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities to drive time and cost efficiencies
  • Support Projects


  • What You'll need:
  • Strong financial technical expertise,
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization ranging from line level to senior management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbally and in writing)
  • Strong time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills: SAP and Microsoft suites (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and knowledge in Tableau is a plus
  • Advanced Knowledge of the English language
  • Global perspective


  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor or Master in Finance, Business Controlling or Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in a Financial analysis/Business Controlling position
