Applied Materials' Joint Operations Leadership (JOLT) data science team is searching for an intern to join our team in 2025! JOLT strategies in rebuild customer trust, create agile and resilient supply chain, reshape supply chain/ supplier relationships, drive operational excellence, and maximize profitability using data science and machine learning. The position will entail the following:

  • Works in project teams developing difficult analytical models, algorithms and automated processes, research and develop machine learning models from inception to deployment.
  • Use data mining and machine learning algorithms to provide insights into historical and real-time data for projects such as material forecast, demand forecast, pattern recognition, etc.
  • Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis and special requests and schedules; derives insights and works with business units to determine actions and KPI for those actions.
  • Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments; Supports the timely development of products for manufacturing and process information by applying sophisticated data analytics, based on a very good knowledge of the business processes and needs.
  • Works in project teams as subject matter expert to design and development of program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured, diverse "big data" sources.

Requirements:

  • In school to obtain Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Preferred skills: Python, SQL, Tableau, HTML
