As Computing Solution Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced High-Performance Computing (HPC), networking, and storage solutions. This role is critical in ensuring our computing infrastructure meets the evolving demands of performance, scalability, and reliability across our products and development environments.

Our group:
The computing development group designs and develops the servers, network, and storage devices that are the heart of Applied Materials PDC (Process Diagnostics and Control) products during the R&D phase.
What you'll be doing:
- End-to-end technology lead for computing solutions supporting both new and ongoing projects at Applied Materials
- Champion emerging technologies by combining technical expertise with a strong understanding of ROI and business impact.
- Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate and implement innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals
- Architect and define state-of-the-art complex computing systems including HPC for image processing systems, networking, and storage solutions aligned with software and Applied products requirements.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the software domain, including the ability to gather and interpret requirements from system and software architects and translate them into robust, scalable computing solutions.
- Evaluate and select optimal architectural components and technologies to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop comprehensive high-level and low-level design documentation for computing infrastructure.
- Serve as a technical authority and advisor to development teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, vendor offerings, and emerging technologies to recommend best-fit solutions.
- Lead research and evaluation of new computing technologies, OS, hypervisors, storage and networking solutions and assess their potential to Applied products.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization.
What should you have?
- BSc. In Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent - MUST
- At least 5 years hands-on experience in solution architecture and system engineering, focus on multi-disciplinary systems
- At least 5 years hands-on experience in Computing modules such as servers, storage appliances, network devices, etc.
- Strong background in system architecture and engineering, with a focus on designing and integrating complex, multi-disciplinary computing solutions.
- Comprehensive knowledge across the computing stack, including compute, networking, storage, operating systems and virtualization technologies
- Strong background in automation stack (Ansible, others) Containers, Kubernetes, dockers, etc.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms and architectures, with experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing solutions across public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Understanding the computing modules technologies, usage, performance and utilization.
- Experience in delivery from development to production - strong advantage
- Deep knowledge in DevOps practices, automation stack software architecture - Advantage
- Experience in large scale organizations
