Summary:

The Commodity Business Business Manager (CBM), Lab Consulting & Services, is the driving force behind strategic sourcing initiatives for Labs , Testing, Metrology, R&D and Engineering. The CBM will collaborate with stakeholders to align procurement objectives with business requirements, mitigating risks and fostering supplier innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Develops, aligns and implements category strategies for Services in Labs, Testing, Metrology, R&D, Engineering and other related functions.

Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and acts as trusted advisor, understanding their requirements and translating them into effective sourcing solutions.

Conducts market research, benchmarking and analyze trends, risks and economic conditions that impacts pricing and availability.

Leads end-to-end RFx process including information gathering, preparation, issuance, evaluation, negotiation, supplier selection and contracting, in collaboration with stakeholders.

Negotiates and manages the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base including pricing, terms and conditions to ensure optimal value.

Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers to ensure performance, quality and delivery standards.

Manages supplier performance metrics and implements corrective actions as needed through SLA's and KPI's.

Extract data from tools, track, analyze and report spend, savings, supplier optimization, spend under contract, managed spend and other procurement KPI's.

Proactively identify opportunities that improve quality, delivery, service and costs.

Presents data-driven cost reduction recommendations to influence decisions on supplier selection, cost savings and risk mitigation.

Ensures compliance with regulations, laws and company policies and standards.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in Procurement of Services for Labs, Testing, Metrology, R&D and Engineering
  • Experience in MRO a plus
  • Procurement skills including market analysis, sourcing, RFx, negotiations, contracting, stakeholder & supplier relations and risk & compliance.
  • Experience procurement of testing services, calibration services, post warranty maintenance and MRO services are a plus
  • Experience negotiating Agreements, Contracts, SOW's, and establishing and revieweing SLA's and KPI's
  • Experience working with procurement tools similar to Ariba Guided Buying, Ariba CLM and Workday Scout.
  • Comfortable extracting and analyzing data from Tableau and Sievo or similar tools.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

U.S. Salary Range:
$108,000.00 - $148,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
