Applied Materials' is looking to recruit an outstanding engineer to support its computational modeling group. In this role, you will develop state-of-the-art models that leverage multi-physics simulation tools as well as AI/ML algorithms to characterize the complex environment in Applied Materials' products and work closely with engineers across multiple business units to develop new solutions to difficult problems. You will work closely with design and process engineers to enhance existing products as well as play a key role in the development of next-generation chambers and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • M.S/PhD (New College Graduate) in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/Chemical Engineering or related field graduating by June 2025
  • Experience with one of the following
    • developing or using commercial/academic computational plasma modeling tools (e.g. HPEM, ACE+, VizGlow, Comsol, VSim)
    • developing or using commercial/academic flow-thermal simulation tools (e.g. Ansys Fluent, Ace+, Comsol)
  • Coursework and hands-on experience in machine learning / statistics / design of experiments / reduced order modeling / surrogate model development
  • Proficient in programming using (Python / Matlab / C/C++ )
  • An analytical mindset with great attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

U.S. Salary Range:
$100,000.00 - $136,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
