Apple's Wireless System team is looking for an engineer to work on system performance characterization across different wireless technologies for Apple's wireless products.

Description

- Design and verification of RF/Over the Air (OTA) MIMO measurement systems. - Work closely with RF HW and antenna engineers to develop comprehensive test strategies to simulate real-world propagation environments in a lab setup. - Study new system level features and work closely with multi-functional teams like HW/antenna/product design to come up with comprehensive test strategies to evaluate them. - Debug failure tests and provide recommendations to cross-functional teams for resolving wireless system issues, including baseband algorithms and RF/Antenna systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong technical background in wireless communication.
  • Working experience with MIMO characteristics (at a system level), antenna design and requirements for modern wireless communication systems such as UWB, LTE, WiFi, 802.11ad and mmWave systems.
  • Working experience with wireless protocols, antennas, and radio propagation.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong programming skills (Matlab/Python).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Working experience with different lab equipment: network analyzers, signal generators, signal analyzers, call boxes, channel emulators.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certification process for CTIA and 3GPP.
  • Experience with post-processing techniques and algorithms for extracting MIMO channel characterization metrics, such as delay spread, angular spread, number of multipath clusters, spatial correlation, condition number, and other key performance indicators.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
