The Sensor Software and Prototyping team at Apple is looking for an extraordinary Software Program Manager to join our growing team to lead and drive a platform of tools used in internal and external user study and prototyping research. These tools (software applications, web portals, etc) drive the collection and ingestion of user research data that fuels the next generation of Apple's machine learning, sensing algorithms - ranging from health features, camera technologies, vision experiences, and more. This candidate ideally has a strong background in technical program management and experience driving software development and validation teams, coordinating between Apple internal hardware and software teams, and prioritizing the needs of our research customers. Exceptional interpersonal skills are a requirement. The ability to handle complex multi-functional team coordination is essential too!

Description
- Partner with engineering managers and their teams to grow a user research + data collection application platform - Champion software development best practices with SSP engineering management partners - Define roadmap of capabilities, scope project work, manage timelines, and communicate project status - Meticulously track development progress, bug discovery, issue convergence, and in field testing - Develop relationships with multi-functional stakeholders to ensure work is completed at quality and on time
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
- 4+ years of technical program management experience in a software development environment
- 4+ years experience with AppleOS (iOS, watchOS, etc) and corresponding application development
- Experience working with large software engineering teams in dynamic software development environment
- Working knowledge of end to end software systems, ranging from low-level firmware to higher level user interface design
- Familiarity with common app development frameworks, APIs, app release cycles, and store submission processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
- Program management certifications (eg, PMP)
- Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, experience as a Scrum Master or bug/issue convergence ("burn-down") manager
- Familiarity with user research, data collection lifecycle, clinical trials
- Experience as a manager of direct reports
- Ability to understand technical architecture and communicate effectively with engineers; ability to up-level and represent team in leadership communications
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Apple's Radar, Jira, Confluence, etc)
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
