In addition to producing stunning examples of Apple's newest technologies we help engineers across the company demonstrate their work across the world. In this role you will design experiences for developers of all ages and skill levels, design apps that demonstrate best practices and delightful experiences for all of Apple's platforms, and work on open-source tools used by software engineers. You'll work with a team of experienced designers to build a wide variety of products, including documentation systems, the Human Interface Guidelines, and macOS apps for empowering the next generation of machine learning experiences.

Description

Our Human Interface design team is looking for an experienced contributor with a background in software design and an understanding of technical systems. We are highly collaborative within the design team and with our colleagues across the company. In this role you'll be responsible for: - Designing new product experiences and new features in existing technical products. - Collaborating with software engineers to build and review highly refined user interfaces. - Collecting and iterating on feedback from stakeholders, including senior leadership across Apple. - Understanding and advocating for technical users & software developers. Note: this role does not require direct software development experience, but does require an ability to empathize with developers of all skill levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in UX design related field or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to express ideas visually, give and receive feedback, and iterate on designs.
  • A design portfolio showcasing a high degree of attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience designing software products.
  • Experience working on apps that ship to the app store.
  • Strong familiarity with Apple's platforms and the Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Experience managing expectations and driving projects with limited oversight while maintaining a clear feedback loop with leadership.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
