Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, prototype, analyze, iterate, and launch Vision Products at Apple. Collaborate frequently with multi-disciplinary teams such as Industrial Design, Project Management, Materials, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Display, Camera, Antenna, and Battery. Responsible for complete subsystems, leading an Apple team through the design process, including 3D computeraided design, tolerance analysis, and materials engineering. Guide a team inside Apple and at our partner facilities to define and refine parts of the system in computer-aided design, creating drawings, and interfacing with vendors to manufacture these parts. Assemble early prototypes, support engineering builds overseas, and solve problems on the assembly line. Analyze test failures for root cause and corrective actions. Grow the organization by recruiting and hiring qualified candidates for necessary roles. International Travel Required 10%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Design Engineering or related field.
- Experience and/or education must include:
- Utilizing 3D CAD software to design and draft complex assemblies.
- Creating presentations and data visualizations in PowerPoint.
- Iterating designs based on stress and strain plots from finite element analyses.
- Utilizing Excel and other software to perform statistical analysis on test results.
- Understanding design-for-manufacturing (DFM) feedback including moldflow and cycle time analysis.
- Utilizing microscopes and hand tools to document failures.
- Interpreting reliability testing results to drive design changes.
- Navigating conflicting demands, including module, reliability, manufacturing algorithms, and industrial design teams.
