Do you have a passion for computer vision and deep learning problems? Are you interested in the latest development of the computer vision algorithms that is used in Apple Vision Pro? The Data Analytic and Quality (DAQ) group is seeking a software engineer to specialize in the evaluation of computer vision and deep learning algorithms. This role involves collaboration with teams at Apple focused on developing algorithms, including computer vision engineers, ML engineers, data scientists, and Infrastructure engineers. Your primary responsibilities will include developing methods for the evaluation and improvement of foundation algorithms/ models, as well as refining the data used in training them, utilizing data centric AI approaches. The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience, a proven track record of developing innovative solutions, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Duties include but not limited to: - Evaluate computer vision algorithms and deep learning models to solve complex problems in Apple Vision Pro. - Contribute to defining feature specifications and anticipated user experience based on data insights. - Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest advancements in computer vision, deep learning, and related fields. - Develop tools for analyzing and visualizing data. - Work closely with program managers, CV engineers, ML engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate computer vision and deep learning capabilities into our products and services. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in computer vision and deep learning models.
  • Strong background in computer vision with hands-on experience in image processing, object detection, segmentation, and other related techniques, SLAM experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, and at least 4 years of hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in in-depth analysis of machine learning model failures
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
