Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop and execute sourcing strategies to secure long term supply continuity. Recommend product innovations based on improving technologies. Track changes in buyer and suppliers within core material markets. Work closely with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms. Develop cost optimization strategies implemented at contract manufacturing locations. Work cross functionally with engineering. Efficiently run advanced excel simulations to identify potential supply risks that can affect product strategy. Benchmark supplier portfolio and execute understanding of manufacturing processes, cost impacts and market intelligence to influence sourcing decisions. Identify and scale new and existing manufacturing partners. Execute strategic agreements and commercial deals to achieve cost, supply and quality targets. Develop a deep understanding of relevant product designs and supporting technologies to scope out cost optimization opportunities across the entire supply chain operations. Work cross functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support business continuity. Develop a should cost models to gauge cost optimization strategies and create bench marking strategies as per comparable product designs. Analyze data from Tableau, to determine capacity planning strategies and balancing long term MPS forecast with supply and demand planning. 25% International and domestic travel required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 - $236,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Supply chain, Engineering management, Industrial engineering, Electrical engineering or related field and 1 year of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 1 year work experience with the following:
- Build should cost models for any commodity leveraging fundamentals
- Evaluate design and architecture tradeoffs to create a cost optimized product
- Understanding of product drawings and technical specifications to influence cost and manufacturing decisions
- Experience in tableau and Advanced Excel for capacity planning, forecasting and complex modeling
- Developing and implementing visualization tools
- Analyzing datasets and extracting insights using statistical methods
- Establishing supply plan of record
- Understanding IP ownership and exclusivity terms to negotiate and close contracts
- Negotiating with suppliers and presenting findings to management
