Sr. Data Scientist, Controlled Experimentation

The applications data science team is looking for a seasoned data scientist who will focus on experimentation and exploratory analysis, specifically in the areas of conversion optimization and feature usage behavior. We support user growth of subscription services, product development and optimization, covering a wide area of the data spectrum including A/B Testing, causal inference and analytics.

Description

Work on initiatives to improve user experience and drive growth - Partner closely with engineering, product and machine learning teams. Work falls broadly into three areas: Experimentation: Improve quality of experimentation, hypothesis generation, statistical techniques, rare event detection and underlying infrastructure. Optimization: Hyper parameter optimization, exploratory and ad-hoc analysis to improve customer experience. Advisory: Cut through the noise in data, identify key findings and distill recommendations for engineering, product and business owners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of industry experience managing Controlled Experimentation.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience with the following:
  • Experiment design and hypothesis testing.
  • Applied Statistics with Experimentation Optimization techniques.
  • Variance Reduction and Rare Event detection.
  • Data mining skills with SQL, Scala, and PySpark.
  • Python or R
  • Masters or PhD in Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related academic field.
  • Exposure to consumer technology.
  • Demonstrate a strong product acumen.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams, ranging from engineering and product to business.
  • Strong communication skill with experience in driving executive presentations.
  • Adept at structuring and solving complex open ended problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning.
  • Anomaly detection and causal inference model.
  • Use of git for version control.
  • Java or C++ programming languages.
