Apple's Original Content Legal group seeks an exceptional content-review attorney to join its team, which supports Apple's original video content efforts worldwide.

Description

Apple's Original Content team is responsible for the full range of legal work that goes into the acquisition, production, and worldwide distribution of television, movies and podcasts. In this role, you'll conduct the front-line legal assessment of creative concepts and content, in development and production, consistent with the company's legal policies and practices. You'll review development materials, scripts and cuts, and liaise with the creative and legal teams to resolve content-related issues in alignment with Apple's strategic goals and priorities. The successful candidate will be a diligent and dedicated counselor who can give concise, practical legal advice under tight deadlines; extra points for a good sense of humor. Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of - coupled with passion and curiosity about - the legal doctrines that underpin speech and creativity, here and abroad.
  • Three or more years' experience vetting scripts and cuts, and advising creative and business teams, from development through distribution, on potential defamation, privacy, copyright, right-of-publicity, and trademark issues arising from show or film content.
  • Five or more years' experience practicing law.
  • JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established, strong relationships within the entertainment industry.
  • Ideally, experience with cutting-edge integration and digital media initiatives, as well as an interest in emerging technologies.
  • Drafting experience also is preferred.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and joy in working collaboratively on cross-functional teams.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
