Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Maintain applications that are used to validate new Application Programing Interfaces (APIs) in the public Software Development Kit (SDKs) for macOS, iOS, tvOS, and watchOS to help ensure when Apple ships new versions of our OS we do not break existing third party applications. Refine the web services and proprietary internal confidential tools to ensure new APIs properly function. Work closely with other developers in Apple that own our SDKs, QA and automation engineers across Apple to ensure adequate test coverage for public SDKs. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 - $286,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills:
  • Using Objective-C/Swift interoperability to maintain and develop native macOS debugging tools.
  • Experience in Objective-C and Swift Debugging complex application errors, and experience using sophisticated low-level techniques to identify the cause of the failures.
  • Experience in Debugging or Dynamic analysis tools: LLDB, GDB, Instruments, Visual Studio debugger, or Valgrind
  • Using XCode instruments, including experience with debugging functional, performance, and networking issues in both 3rd party applications
  • Understanding interaction between OS and 3rd party applications
  • Debugging issues of usage of APIs and frameworks
  • Creating internal binary compatibility tools and applications; identifying opportunities for automation and workflow optimization; and developing tools (both independently and through collaboration) to automate tasks.
  • Improving binary compatibility tools and applications with new technologies; driving better scalability, performance, user experience; and removing security vulnerabilities.
  • Managing applications deployed across Kubernetes, Linux systems (both virtualized and bare metal) containerized deployments.
  • Utilizing cloud technologies, including understanding of potential advantages and drawbacks over bare-metal or virtualized infrastructure.
