Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Participate in workload selection and preparation of the GPU performance test plan. Drive performance content delivery to the hardware team and triage functional issues. Ensure performance profile of workloads prior to delivery. Deep-dive into hardware investigations to understand and root-cause performance gaps. Support performance investigations during silicon bring up. Enhance profiling infrastructure to facilitate performance debug. Work on automation and visualization tools to identify performance regressions to ensure high quality software. Participate in defining architectural changes for future GPUs. Working cross functionally with the Silicon engineering group and Platform Architects to understand the pre-silicon performance expectations for all Apple silicon GPUs. Deep dive in to Metal applications on performance analysis and root cause the SW stack changes leading to a performance regression. Validating early performance stream and metadata to ensure performance tools are ready prior to silicon bring up. Domestic and International Travel Required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $ 172,931 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Education and/or experience must include:
  • Using Splunk, tableau, or other data analytics tools to perform performance analysis.
  • Coding GPU programming, debugging functions, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Capturing traces for GPU intent performance workloads.
  • Working with C++ based accurate Hardware models.
  • Utilizing C, C++, Python for coding and code reviews.
  • Building and leveraging CI/CD for development and releases.
  • Developing framework for tests results and reporting over time.
  • Optimizing performance of GPU workloads using GPU architecture knowledge and GPU programming skills.
  • Porting algorithms to run efficiently on GPU.
