Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and implement thermal management control algorithms across all iOS, macOS, WatchOS and Apple TV products. Work cross-functionally with system architects, thermal product design and other system software engineers to discuss the detail about the thermal management algorithms. Invent new thermal management algorithms under tight product physical enclosure constraints to ensure that devices performance and reliability is not impacted. Explore novel thermal management software solutions such as controlling the touch temperature for concrete customer facing challenges. Design, implement and optimize system software and embedded firmware. Analyze telemetry and control loop responses using various propriety Apple internal tools. Demonstrate and explain cross functionally system thermal/power/performance trade-offs. Influence long term software design and specifications of future HW products and deliver a roadmap of innovative software solutions to very challenging system problems. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • C and C++ development for operating system processes.
  • Debugging and triaging real time system issues.
  • Device driver development experience that leverages good understanding of hardware and software.
  • Experience with software version control tools like GIT and SVN for day to day software development.
  • Experience working with bug tracking systems for tracking software issues.
  • Python programming for automated unit test scripts development.
  • Experience with reading technical documentations such as data sheets and hardware specs.
  • Writing technical documents for software features.
  • Experience with technical communication to stakeholders involved in software feature deliverable.
  • Experience with software development life cycle.
