Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, implement, and maintain inter-processor communications drivers for wifi, Bluetooth, and cellular chipsets in C++ IOKit and DriverKit frameworks. Specification and implementation of automated unit tests and integration tests in XCTest to validate that driver software functions as designed and to reduce maintenance and new feature development costs by reusing the same tests to validate that driver software continues to work correctly when modified. Overseeing driver bringup on new hardware products for eventual sale to customers, on custom simulation and emulation environments in support of Apple's in-house silicon development group, and on virtualization environments to increase other teams' speed of software development and scale of validation by removing the dependency on physical hardware. Investigating and resolving technical issues reported on new legacy hardware platforms to create software updates that improve the end customer user experience. Creating and maintaining Custom C++, Objective C++, Python, and Swift development tools to increase team productivity by enhancing its capability to analyze quickly reported problems. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $164,154 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Implementing kernel driver software in the C++ programming language.
  • Implementing end-to-end software that communicates between process contexts with different privilege domains.
  • Troubleshooting low-level software and hardware for bring-up of new hardware platforms.
  • Applying secure software engineering principles.
  • Writing clear and comprehensive technical specifications and requirements for software or hardware.
  • Using software debugging tools such as lldb or gdb to investigate and correct unexpected software behavior.
  • Using software performance profiling tools such as dtrace or strace to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
