Description
You will become an integral part of a diverse team focused on qualifying NFC functionality across Apple's groundbreaking devices. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the specifications for various Java Card applet developments, creating detailed test cases to validate these applets, and designing and developing automated test benches to streamline the qualification process. You will handle applet validation across multiple secure element platforms, document test results, and file comprehensive quality bug reports. Additionally, you will be designing and fabricating custom mechatronic assemblies and mechanical fixtures. You'll leverage your expertise in mechanical engineering, including materials properties and strength, along with CAD modeling skills using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Your hands-on experience with laser cutters, 3D printers, and lathe machines will be essential in building prototypes, and your knowledge of Arduino and robotics systems, including robotic arms and mobile robots, will play a key role in developing custom solutions. You will apply strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and utilize version control systems like Git to manage development. Additionally, your troubleshooting expertise will help resolve issues in mechatronic systems, contributing to the quality and innovation of emerging technologies.The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic, creative environment and is excited to explore a rapidly evolving domain.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in Python, C, C++, and/or Java, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming principles and familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Skilled in developing, writing, and automating test cases to validate specific features.
- Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of a functional area within an application or product.
- Hands-on experience with the design and assembly of mechatronics systems, including expertise with tools like laser cutters, 3D printers, and lathe machines.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including material properties, strength of materials, and machine theory.
- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Experience working with Arduino or similar microcontrollers, as well as hands-on experience with robotic arms and mobile robots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the ISO14443 application layer, Global Platform/EMV standards, and/or Java Card.
- Experience in applet testing or applet development.
- Can clearly communicate and driving multiple projects across many teams.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
