Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop low-level device drivers for Apple Neural Engine used on the latest SoC blocks and chipsets across Apple products, including iPhone/iPad/Mac/Apple Watch/Vision Pro. Work with driver and compiler team to design and develop firmware to fully apply Apple Neural Engine hardware to run the machine learning algorithm. Collaborate with other engineering teams to define features and communication protocols and detail the requirements clearly with implementation specifications. Design and implement firmware features to support advanced AI algorithm such as LLM for Apple products. Lead Apple Neural Engine firmware support during pre-silicon phase and validate hardware features in new generations of SoCs. Perform failure analysis and debug complex technical issues involving hardware and firmware. Design and implement tools to enhance hardware testing and diagnosis. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,931 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include the following skills:
  • Embedded software development using C/C++ programming language
  • Developing multi-threaded software within RTOS system
  • Understanding Machine Learning and Neural Engine Acceleration concepts
  • Debugging software using interactive debugger such as LLDB
  • Designing and implementing test cases and validating firmware features
  • Utilizing Python for developing code generation and using log analyzing tools
  • Using scripting languages and tools such as bash and Git
