Description
APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Participate in the development of the data plane protocol stack software for LTE and 5G NR modems which entails defining requirements, designing, implementing, and conducting unit testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for hardware-software interface to ensure that the software efficiently interfaces with the hardware components to deliver optimal functionality in terms of power consumption and performance. Evaluate features in iOS and watchOS and assess how 3GPP data plane features can enhance the user experience on these platforms which entails identifying opportunities for integrating 3GPP standards to improve the functionality of cellular data on Apple devices. Develop robust testing frameworks for unit and component testing including designing comprehensive test plans and executing them to ensure high software quality to identify and address software issues before they impact end users. Investigate and resolve issues that arise during system integration, silicon bring-up, and field testing to coordinate with various teams to diagnose and address these issues effectively, ensuring the reliability and performance of the modem in real-world scenarios. Provide necessary support for lab activities, including setting up and maintaining tester equipment to ensure the testing environment remains functional and reliable, contributing to the successful development and modem software testing. Review and suggest innovative updates to cellular data plane standards. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 - $204,000/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience and/or education must include:
- C Programming techniques includes memory management, pointer manipulation, bit manipulation, data structures and algorithms.
- Wireless Domain and Cellular Protocols including TCP/IP, PDCP and RLC layers.
- Network protocol including OSI stack layers, flow and congestion control, TCP/IP, and quality of service (QoS) principles.
- Architecture of Parallel Computers for cache coherence and memory consistency in parallel systems.
- Operating Systems Principles including process scheduling and coordination, deadlock prevention and resolution, memory management techniques, and basics of multi-threads systems.
- Architecting and designing embedded systems.
- Design and implementation of software for embedded computer systems.
