Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Architect and develop end-to-end systems to drive new capabilities and user experiences for sports domain Siri / Spotlight / Safari. Work closely with operations, project management, and design in order to build products that surprise and delight users. Use expert domain knowledge in all popular world sports. Design and build rich search powered by sophisticated, highperformance data ingestion pipelines including machine learning, distributed systems, and software engineering to contribute to Apple's vision of search. The best example of this is ingesting a data from a provider for a sport, like basketball, into an index and enabling users to be able to search for it (via typing and speaking). Collaborate with teams across Apple to ensure features are fully integrated across different platforms. For example, if a sports feature is built in the News App or TV App, Siri, as Apple's assistant, should provide a great way to access or enable that functionality through voice or UI. Additionally, Siri's experience built for iPhone should scale to all the other devices Apple creates. Enable on device data extraction to handle personal queries in a privacy preserving manner. Develop and maintain web tools for functionality of uploading sports related images. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 - $250,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Writing high performance server software on Linux and/or Unix to write quality software.
  • Working with REST services to contribute and be familiar with data ingestion.
  • Supporting production environments to triage and debug production issues.
  • Using Hadoop and SQL to support the functionality of distributed systems and data retrieval.
  • Using C, C++, Go, Python, Java, or Scala to prevent low performance software and high impact issues.
  • Using Search Technologies including token based retrieval and semantic/vector search to retrieve and present results to users.
  • Using natural Language technologies including C, C++, Go, Python, Java, or Scala to build user product experiences.
  • Quantifying data to determine value when building out a feature or experience.
