Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Develop, prototype and productize state of the art algorithms for neural network model compression. Implement algorithms using PyTorch and ensure efficient deployment via Core ML. Set up training jobs, datasets, evaluation, and performance benchmarking pipelines, applying training time and post-training compression techniques. Understand hardware capabilities and incorporate those in optimization algorithm design and enhancement. Collaborate with diverse teams, both internal and external to Apple, including researchers, hardware architects, and software engineers, to co-develop and implement algorithms customized for Apple hardware. Run detailed experiments and ablation studies to profile algorithms on various models, tasks, and across different model sizes. Improve model optimization documentation, write tutorials and guides. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Coding in C, C++, and Objective C to program applications and resolve engineering issues.
  • Coding in Python, R, and Matlab for software engineering and machine learning applications.
  • Working on logging infrastructure and developing real-time analysis mechanisms to triage and mitigate battery life issues.
  • Utilizing software design and architecture principles to develop embedded platforms.
  • Utilizing operating systems and networking concepts to debug and triage applications.
  • Building performant and scalable frameworks for third party app developers with modular, extensible, and efficient software architecture
  • Translating design requirements into functional specifications
