Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Create specialized, low-level software systems running in a tightly integrated hardware & software environment on consumer electronic devices. Create new features from building the initial prototype up to ownership of a substantial part of the stack for the final feature implementation on device. Develop system software and interfaces to control and manage the functionality of, including but not limited to, mobile devices and desktop computer hardware. Build tools to support collecting and evaluating, and analyze data from these systems; make recommendations for improvements to existing systems and develop new systems and features based on the data. Measure and monitor power and performance characteristics of these systems to minimize the impact when running on battery-powered devices. Ensure high quality and agility with unit and integration tests. Build intelligent features across Apple products. Predict and accelerate the user experience while respecting privacy. Collaborate with many different teams at Apple to create groundbreaking technology. Build prototypes and have a say in what features Apple build. Have touch with optimizing memory and CPU usage to designing APIs, from implementing efficient data structures and minimizing IO to designing solid testable architectures or concurrent systems. Work on full stack, ranging from internal tools development, to shipping code that runs on the devices used by Apple customers every day. Build elegant user experiences, tackle hard problems. Learn new things and possess strong skills in object-oriented software design and debugging. Develop new features, maintain existing code, fix bugs, and contribute to overall system design. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,713 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. PAY & BENEFITS: Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
  • Education and/or experience must include each of the following:
  • Writing reliable, resilient, performant, and well-tested computer software
  • Debugging to investigate and fix errors in computer software
  • Advanced understanding of computer science fundamentals such as such as operating systems,
  • databases, and multi-threaded programming
  • Advanced mastery of the latest programming language features such as Swift Macros
  • Produce software that operates in both embedded and desktop computing environments
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, PMs, designers, QAs, etc.
  • Utilizing Swift, Objective-C, C/C++, Python, Jinja to work on multi-language codebases.
  • Utilizing issue tracking systems to plan, manage, and execute software development tasks.
