Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design new software stacks for future health products and sensing technologies. Architect and build user-facing features with interactions from low-level system software layers to high-level architectures for new software features in the Health space. Build Apple internal test tools and data collection infrastructure which will help define future Health features on Apple Watch. Work with sensor data and familiarity with IOKit frameworks on iOS/OS X platforms, debug and profile code in kernel and user space software. Maintain and design new software stacks for future health projects and sensing technologies. Architect and build software stacks to implement new features in the Health space. Participate in designing and building new system software architecture Sleep feature related features on Apple Watch. Participate in code reviews from members or cross-functional teams contributing to watchOS. Build automation and supporting tools in Python to help expedite the watchOS feature development process as well as investigate and triage bugs and issues that could have existed. Negotiate, specify, and document communication protocols, system states, FW/SW feature requirements, power and performance optimization with cross-functional teams to build production-level Apple Watch Health features. Define power management strategies and review and collaborate with Quality engineering teams to inform and craft white box testing. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $177,838 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required::
- Implementing health sensor features using modern C++ or Objective C++.
- Understanding memory alignment and optimizations needed for kernel device driver and development for new hardware bring-up.
- Experience working with digital sensors and controllers.
- Object-oriented framework development and API design experience.
- Experience with debugging and profiling code in both kernel and user space.
- Experience in data structure and ML algorithms to support SW-Algorithms integration on an embedded platform.
- Defining power management strategies, collaborating with Quality Engineering teams, conducting white box testing, and ensuring optimal power efficiency and performance.
