Key Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in tooling and automation development.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Javascript etc.
  • Experience with debugging, regressions and bisection techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a diligent mentality.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with software engineering workflow systems - Jira, Github etc.

Description

As a Senior Triage Automation Engineer on our team you will be instrumental in designing and implementing solutions that help triage engineers at the frontline of identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing issues. You will not only improve the efficiency of triage, but also empower engineering teams to debug and root-cause-analyze issues in an optimal manner. Your contributions will be essential to continuously shipping highly polished application experiences on Apple Vision Pro, making you a key contributor to all stages of software development. With exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills you will observe and study triage processes across various apps, identify automation requirements and translate them into tools that significantly optimize the triage and debugging. You will have the opportunity to mentor and pass on design and development skills to other members of the team. As a technical leader on the team, excellent communication skills are a must in this role. In addition, the role will involve close interactions with engineering teams, QA, and management within Apple and hence requires exceptional collaboration skills. We are looking for an experienced, curious, and technically savvy teammate who can juggle a variety of tasks efficiently. As part of a versatile and dynamic team, you will be working on cutting edge technology, empowering the teams to do their best and enriching the lives of customers all around the world. You will also have mentorship/leadership opportunities and be instrumental in shipping Apple-quality experience

Education & Experience

BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with triage and root-cause analysis of issues for software that ships at-scale preferably with software that ships on Apple platforms (iOS, watchOS, tvOS etc.)
  • Exceptional attention to detail to examine, debug and recognize failure patterns.
  • Familiarity with Objective-C, Swift iOS.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $125,800.00 and $229,400.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
