From brainstorming through implementation, you will work with members of the Apple Maps design team, as well as our engineering, product, and QA groups, to advocate for the human experience as you bring innovative new features to life through interactive prototypes. You have a systems-thinking mindset, deep curiosity about how navigation works, and a passion for crafting elegant solutions to complex real-world problems. By constantly focusing on the consumer, you'll help shape products that are not only amazing to look at, but also intuitive and useful to millions of people worldwide. Strong collaboration and communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to address feedback through rapid iteration, clearly express your ideas through functional demos or Keynote presentations, and confidently present your work to an audience.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working as a design prototyper or in a hybrid design/engineering role within a design team, with a portfolio showcasing native iOS or mobile app prototyping work.
- 5+ years of experience building interactive prototypes using Swift and Objective-C.
- Deep experience with SwiftUI, AppKit, or UIKit, with a strong understanding of how to bring designs to life on Apple platforms.
- Solid understanding of API design and software architecture, with the ability to build scalable and maintainable prototype code.
- Experience collaborating closely with designers to explore and validate ideas, rapidly iterate, and communicate concepts through functional prototypes.
- Strong eye for detail and ability to apply principles of visual and interaction design to build polished, high-fidelity prototypes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience sharing work with cross-functional teams, including executives.

- Enthusiasm for maps and curiosity about cars, driving, or the future of mobility.
- Empathy and understanding of how to advocate for user experience with peer teams like engineering, product, and QA.
- A critical thinker with a passion for making every detail count, while maintaining a clear understanding of the bigger picture.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
