Description
This position is for a Lead Process Integration Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of III-V compound semiconductor development cycles and fabrication processes, along with a solid technical foundation in optics, materials science, and electronics. This individual will work multi-functionally to evaluate internal process flows and analyze relevant data to ensure key performance, reliability, yield, and efficiency targets are met. The engineer will play a pivotal role in the technology transfer of qualified processes to a partner fabrication facility and will lead critical co-development efforts to enable high-volume manufacturability. This individual will hold substantial day-to-day responsibilities in managing the partner site to ensure alignment with project timelines and fulfillment of product requirements. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Oversee tool installation, setup, overall fabrication readiness, and process bring up - Demonstrate the viability of the baseline process flow in a MP-intent environment - Manage co-development of unit processes and integration flows to meet product specifications - Communicate with both upstream and downstream supply chain partners to manage and resolve interface dependencies - Drive execution at the partner facility to ensure timely delivery of in-spec components that support system builds and program milestones In addition, the engineer will be responsible for leading technical reviews with internal teams and external partners to assess manufacturing readiness, identify potential risks, and resolve critical technical challenges. The role also requires regular reporting and communication of key progress updates, technical findings, issue resolutions, and escalation items to multi-functional stakeholders and senior leadership on a weekly basis. Given the fabrication-focused nature of the role, frequent travel to the partner facility is expected.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related fields
- 5+ years hands on semiconductor process integration experience in a leading role
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience with process integration of compound semiconductor devices
- 5+ years of working in clean room facility managing wafer design of experiments and processing
- 5+ years of experience with failure analysis characterization techniques
- Experience in transferring technologies from development status into mass production maturity
- Broad knowledge of material and device physics of compound semiconductors
- Excellent critical analysis, statistical analysis, and reasoning skills
- Expertise in problem solving methods and ability to moderate root cause analysis to enable teams to solve complex problems
- Experience with data analysis tools and principles of statistically designed experimentation
- Record of owning and driving complex projects in multi-functional working environments to completion
- Demonstrated capability of developing novel integration process flows and track record of bringing it to production
- Excellent project management skills, Program/Project Management experience preferred
- Strong skills in collaboration, organization, and communication required
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
