Retail Technical Fraud Analyst Manager - Strategic Data Solutions
The Strategic Data Solutions team is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Analytics Manager to lead a team focused on combating fraud, waste, and abuse in our fast-paced stores/e-commerce environment. This role will be responsible for guiding a team of Technical Fraud Analysts in developing and implementing analytical/tactical solutions to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities. As a Retail TFA Manager, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, develop career paths and skills within the team, developing strong relationships across the organization, and driving continuous improvement in our fraud prevention strategies. You navigate ambiguity and uncertainty comfortably, making decisions based on information that may be incomplete at times, and demonstrating an uncanny sense of when to hold course vs shift directions for the team. In this role, you'll combine technical/analytical knowledge with fraud mitigation skills within the fulfillment business to help the team approach fraud mitigation in a new and exciting way that enables us to scale with success.
Description
• Help technically lead the team's development of new production SQL queries and Python jobs along with general analytics • Collaborate with and support the team to innovate, encouraging experimentation and growth • Mentor the team to develop their technical skillset considering both the individual's wants and program needs • Drive personal innovation projects to improve the team's and/or program's efficiency • Oversee TFA tactical execution on a daily basis • Drive prioritization between execution and innovation, ensuring metrics are in line with program targets • Project Manage team initiatives as needed • Engage with internal and external functional partners to gain perspective and solution on combined challenges
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, a related field, or relevant experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics engineering, or similar technical analytics roles
- 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring data-focused teams
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R)
- Strong background in experimentation design, causal inference, and statistical analysis
- Experience working with large-scale data pipelines and production-level analytics systems
- Proven ability to drive measurable business impact through data and automation

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building robust monitoring systems to track data and production system health in production
- Expertise in data storytelling and creating stakeholder-ready visualizations and narratives
- Ability to perform in both strategic and tactical situations, and shift between them as defined by the needs of the role
- Ability to connect insights to business outcomes and influence strategy
- Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Spark, Snowflake, Airflow) and ML ops tooling
- Passion for fostering inclusive team environments and valuing diverse perspectives
- Clear communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into actionable business language
