Quality Engineer - Machine Learning

Join the Sensing and Connectivity team to work on Location Technologies that power critical experiences in Apple products. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our ML models, data pipelines, and AI-driven products. As part of a highly energetic team, you will collaborate closely with the development team and cross-functional stakeholders to comprehend features and leverage data-driven test results to shape and refine Apple products. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge location intelligence features powered by ML Models across various operating systems, including iOS and WatchOS.

Description

We are seeking an engineer with a fundamental understanding of ML and able to drive training and testing dataset curation. You will utilize your programming expertise to automate test processes, conduct data analysis, and generate comprehensive reports.

Responsibilities

  • In this position, you will be responsible for owning the quality of the end-to-end features powered by location context features.
  • Develop automated tests that qualify the features, measure performance, and system memory usage.
  • Identify KPIs that define the project's success, dashboard, and track progress across releases.
  • Define quality assurance strategies for ML models, including validation of training data, features, and labels

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience writing Python code.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about building customer-facing features and building ML tools and infrastructure.
  • Excellent debugging skills and experience troubleshooting.
  • Experience in developing test strategies and executing them with automation.
  • Understanding core ML concepts.
  • Ability to thrive in a reciprocal environment and communicate clearly while expertly driving multiple projects.
  • Results oriented, with a proven ability to effectively prioritize and deliver tasks on schedule
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
