Product Manager, Families and Parental Controls
As a member of our Worldwide Product Marketing group, you will represent customers throughout a product line's journey from concept through development and launch. You'll develop and apply insights to help infuse innovative features into our product development process. At Apple, we combine product management/development and product marketing responsibilities into a single, cross functional Product Management role that collaborates with design, engineering, finance, legal, marketing communications, public relations, market research, sales and support for maximum impact across the organization. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define product roadmap and strategy
- Understand your product technologies several layers deep and be able to clearly communicate them with knowledgable insight
- Influence critical product trade-offs that impact schedule, usability, differentiation, and more
- Deeply understand user feedback, competitive trends, emerging regulatory requirements, and the overall product space to inform a well-developed perspective on [solutions for Families and Parental Controls]
- Position Apple's suite of parental controls in the competitive landscape and craft compelling key product messaging to encourage customer adoption to drive business growth
- Work with marketing communications and PR on the development of product launch and momentum activities, press releases, marketing materials, and press briefings including product demos
- Serve as an ambassador for Apple through press briefings and customer visits to drive advocacy for your product
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in product marketing and/or product management roles, including at least one entire product development cycle from concept to launch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams; this includes partnering with engineering during early research and development to define product strategy and roadmap, and with marketing and public relations to craft positioning, and define marketing activities
- Proven track record formulating product messaging and creating outbound marketing for both technical and consumer audiences; experience translating complex technology into powerful messaging for varied audiences including consumers, media, analysts, and leading industry specialists
- Deep understanding of the Families and Parental Controls domain
- Best-in-class oral and written communication skills; the ability to become fluent in technical concepts and explain to non-technical partners
- Strong ability to lead through influence, debate and storytelling
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, handles high stakes decisions with ease, with the ability to cut through ambiguity
- Strong analytical abilities and an uncompromising attention to detail with the ability to operate seamlessly between highly detailed and technical situations and strategic business situations
- A self-starter who is dedicated and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities
- Press and media experience with success as a product spokesperson on a national or global level
- Willingness to travel
- BS/BA and/or MBA
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
