Product Design Lab Technician

The Product Design Labs team supports the Product Design team in their quest to design and develop the latest and greatest hardware offerings for our customers. We are dedicated to developing and implementing solutions to support our engineering teams. We work on all aspects of the product, from building prototypes to characterizing materials. We want you to join our cohesive and growing team to do the most impactful work of your life. In this role, you will work directly to support the design, development, assembly, and testing of our products. You will work in a lab, getting hands on with materials, technology, and equipment that are used to support our development efforts. Your input will be used to drive design decisions, and your expertise will be leveraged to develop solutions for our Product Design engineering team. This role is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to make an impact on the future of Apple products and use their technical abilities to help solve complex engineering challenges.

Description

What will you own? Assembly, disassembly, and modification of prototypes in order to facilitate product characterization and development. Documentation of issues, collection of test data, and supporting studies to deliver the data needed to make decisions. Maintaining a high use, lively, evolving, and creative lab space.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5 years demonstrated ability in an engineering technician role
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment found in a design lab (3D printers, laser cutter, mill, lathe, etc.)
  • Familiarity with proper shop safety and housekeeping practices
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with digital productivity tools like spreadsheets and slide presentations
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem mitigation skills
