As a key member of the Camera Semiconductor Technologies team, you will be responsible for the modeling, design, optimization, and characterization of pixels/photodiodes and the development of new sensors. In your new role, you will be at the center of efforts to develop new image sensing technology, and you will engage with cross-functional teams working on many aspects of system, module, circuit, and device development.
Description
As a pixel development engineer, your core responsibilities will be: -Devise, model, design, implement, and characterize pixels and optical detectors for specific applications. -Development and validation of sensor specifications to engage with internal and external partners. -Collaborating with global image sensor suppliers to develop new image sensors for different applications. -Developing and implementing new characterization methods and equipment. -Documenting and presenting your results to both internal and external engineering teams. -Working with internal and external teams to ensure that sufficient and correct testing is implemented at all stages to guarantee performance. -Cross-functional collaboration to develop next-generation imaging products and features.

Minimum Qualifications
- BS and relevant industry experience.
- Experience with data analysis tools (JMP or MATLAB or Excel, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
- MS/PhD and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in image sensor pixel and sensor development, sensor characterization, sensor bring-up and debug, or wafer-level testing.
- Familiar with image sensor technology, image sensor performance metrics, image sensor usage, and integration into camera systems.
- Experience with general industry trends and technical challenges.
- Knowledgeable enough in all aspects of sensor usage that you can efficiently work with and support the camera team.
- Basic knowledge of process development (CMOS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Background in solid-state electronic devices with a solid understanding of device physics.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
