OS Performance Engineer

This is a terrific position for an engineer passionate in solving challenging performance problems and working on cutting edge technologies/new products.
Description
Make a difference in Apple's operating systems by collaborating with hardware teams and software teams across the stack from kernel to applications - This position will require analyzing performance of various user experience focussed workloads and engaging with engineering teams to gain a deep understanding of problem domains. Evangelize best practices and pursue improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in Systems Engineering, primarily across the Software stack, or other experience pointing to success as a generalist
- Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions, Operating Systems, Device Drivers, Kernel/Firmware Abstractions
- Excellent command of C, C++
- Excellent teamwork and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and using Performance tracing, profiling, logging tools will be a plus
- Experience with UIKit or SwiftUI is a plus
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
