Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools for testing the display for all Apple products (iPhone, iPad, Mac, iMac, MacBook, VisionPro etc.). Define performance specifications in Standardized Requirements format to communicate to cross functional team member from other domain i.e. electrical engineering, software engineering, optics and algorithm engineering team member involved in the development of these machine and to send to our equipment vendors who will be building these machines. Define mechanical interface requirements between product and test fixture and critical component outline and connector definition. Support PCB design layout for mechanical interface and drawings. Design systems for automation integration & high-volume production environments. Apply engineering knowhow in the areas of optics, precision mechanism design, motion control, and statistics for data analysis. Document best practices, SOPs and maintain a library of proven designs. Apply scientific methods esting such as material testing, tensile strength test using an Instron machine, scratch testing, profile measurements using laser measurement systems, metrology verification using CMM system, CT scanning for x-ray analysis of components, SEM analysis for analysis surface wear of components and material layers, etc to debug issues and implement robust solutions. Generate geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis to assure tools / fixtures work by design. Drive, end-to-end mechanical design of stand-alone functional systems which will then become part of the production line for the various Apple products. Work with cross functional teams for equipment development & deployment (Electrical, Module, Software, Optics and Algorithm). 40 hours/week.
