Model Maker - CNC Machinist

This role entails preparing materials, setting up the CNC Mill/Turn machines, programming tool paths, and conducting thorough spot checks on finished components, all while ensuring adherence to stringent quality and safety standards.
Description
As a CNC prototype machinist, you will be responsible for working independently on assignments that demand exceptional judgment and initiative. You will collaborate closely with a team to ensure the production of high-quality products. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, accurately follows operational and routine maintenance instructions, demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to new processes, and effectively communicates project progress on a regular basis. Minimum Qualifications
- Experience setting up, operating, and programming a CNC machine in a 3D CAD/CAM environment
- Ability to program complex 3D parts
- Experience holding close tolerances and validating critical features and dimensions using hand metrology equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in multi-axis operation and programming
- Programming experience with general part geometries as well as free form shapes
- Knowledge of Machine code
- Experience using horizontal and vertical saws, manual mills and lathes
- Ability to apply and advise on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
- Experience reading, interpreting and applying detailed part drawing requirements
