Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work within the Frameworks and Design Systems team and act as a primary point of contact for a branch of work. Work closely with creative, technical, and managing disciplines to identify alignment opportunities, inform prioritization, provide design direction, and at times actively create considered and elegant design systems to support Apple's marketing experiences. Navigate cross-team and cross-discipline relationships, creativity, and logic to ensure a holistic extension of Apple frameworks and design systems through thoughtful creation. Contribute to positive collaboration with product design teams. Demonstrate a strong understanding of branding principles, style guides, and product design. Create with an elegant design aesthetic and exceptional attention to detail to support design projects. Utilize Photoshop and Sketch expertise and apply a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and React. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,900 - $216,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Visual Communications Design, UI Design, Product Design, Design Systems, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Using UI design, product design, and/or design systems conventions to inform direction and guidance provided to designers.
  • Utilizing Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, animation, and prototyping tools to create UI proposals and design kits.
  • Sourcing design requirements from relevant stakeholders supporting component enhancement requests, to inform component viability, harmony with existing design systems, as well as scope and timing commitments.
  • Overseeing design projects, including assigning work and provide direction in preparation for reviews and approvals.
  • Preparing presentations to articulate design rationale for proposals or summaries that harmonizes foundational theories and existing (or new) UI.
  • Conducting cross-discipline collaborations across design and systems teams to align on component structure/anatomy, taxonomy, states and behaviors, as well as coordinated rollouts.
  • Writing outlines for component behaviors, customizations, capabilities and limitations, for development, designer, and QA (quality assurance) reference.
  • Implementing visual Quality Assurance of component builds to ensure design specifications, including styles, behavior, and visual accessibility requirements have been met.
  • Experience with accessibility and localization conventions to ensure component proposals meet stringent accessibility requirements and user needs, worldwide.
