Apple is seeking a manager for a Global Sourcing & Supply Management team (GSSM) to lead strategic planning, long-term deal structuring, and negotiations of raw materials. This position requires the ability to work with procurement, engineering, finance, and legal teams and also third-parties such as smelters and suppliers. The position requires strong quantitative and analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. The Global Sourcing & Supply Management team is positioned at the interface between Apple's product teams and the industries that supply core technologies. We are responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies as well as recommending product innovations based on improving technology. The position requires an interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation. The Global Sourcing & Supply Management team drives centralized capacity planning for all components used across Apple products and helps drive long-term strategic deals.

Description

Build a high-performing team, foster collaboration, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Develop a deep, nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and identify emerging competitive forces. Predict changes in buyer and supplier power and use industry dynamics to Apple's advantage. Develop and exercise cross-functional influence, collaborating across the Apple organization to ensure business objectives are met. Rapidly synthesize and communicate market changes, risks and action plans to senior leaders; actively identifying potential and mitigating supply issues that can affect product strategy. Optimize supply chain performance through cost and capacity scenario analysis and benchmarking. Implement processes to perform supplier financial research, spend analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals. Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality in order to strike agreements that meet Apple's performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or a related field
  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, foster collaboration, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills to mentor, guide, and coordinate cross-functional teams in achieving business objectives.
  • Strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and good judgment to identify impact-based priorities.
  • Skilled at developing and exercising cross-functional influence, translating between business owners, technical teams, and suppliers.
  • Proven experience in executive presentations and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while working through ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Experience developing, conducting, and closing complex contract negotiations from both commercial and legal aspects.
  • Ability to drive closure and resolution of complex supply chain issues.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $196,200 and $295,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
