Description

APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Design, develop, and implement algorithms for embedded systems in the next generation of input devices to accurately determine the intent of the user interaction. Act as the focal point for hardware and software integration to productize and ship solutions for quality user experiences. Model, design, implement, and test algorithms for touch interfaces. Develop calibration procedures and tune tracking algorithms to allow consistent performance across a wide variety of devices in mass production. Collect and analyze data to optimize sensing algorithms across large user bases via geometric analysis and automated learning to be distilled into a small number of features and appropriately classified in embedded systems. Assess user impact of new hardware sensors and technology changes for optimal performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to root-cause hardware and software issues and mitigate them. Investigate new technologies and prototype concepts. Document, publish, and present new solutions and innovations via keynotes and white papers. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 - $210,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Machine Learning or related field, and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
• Embedded systems design and programming in Python and C or C++.
• Sensor physics and Signal processing, including removing noise and other artifacts from raw sensor signals.
• Applying Statistical and Data analysis techniques to evaluate data from physical sensors and users.
• Designing Heuristic and rule-based Pattern recognition and Classification algorithms.
• Utilizing automated Learning strategies to train Classifiers and Neural networks.
• Implementing algorithms that determine user intent in embedded systems.
• Root-causing hardware and algorithm issues and designing solutions to address them.
• Researching technical findings and communicating them to a team of engineers.
