Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop and perform lab testing for camera image quality evaluation. Prototype camera testing setup and algorithms. Develop imager test techniques, including flare detection, and color calibration. Debug image quality issues and help find the root cause of the issues. Test prototype camera hardware if any new changes both in hardware or software. Optimize ISP design and support of production line testing setups. Perform testing and data analysis on benchmark products such as SFR comparison, noise quantification, and flare quantification. Debug and optimize camera performance during the R&D process in order to decide future camera decision. Perform component level testing such as lens or glass transmission and reflectance measurement. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 - $205,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Optical Science, Optical Engineering, Photonics Engineering or related field.
- Education and/or experience must include the following skills:
- Matlab programming skills on digital image processing, data analysis & visualization.
- Objective camera metrics for SFR, noise, color, dynamic range.
- Understanding of subjective camera quality such as for aliasing, flare, color, texture, noise.
- Megapixel CMOS image sensor technology, lens selection and qualification.
- Understanding geometrical/ray optics concepts such as reflection, refraction, thin & thick lens equations, aberrations; and knowledge of Zemax.
- Camera bench testing, interface and automation with device using Matlab, Python, or Shell.
- Understanding of camera ISP pipeline and 3A algorithm.
- Prototyping image quality algorithm for quantitative characterization of image quality.
