Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work on DC/DC converters and power design. Perform functional and electrical validation of Display systems. Debug circuits using standard lab tools like oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers and E-loads. Simulate and understand power supply behavior and distribution. Work with mobile or embedded processors, ARM Socs and ASICs. Design PCBs and manufacture of PCBAs. Drive technical projects, from prototypes to mass production. Design high speed PCB schematics, guide layout engineers, and debug PCB boards. Collaborate with cross functional teams like Optics, ME, and SW to build a high-quality seamless product from end to end. Digital and high-speed circuit design. Design and develop hardware for consumer electronics products. Design high speed printed circuit board (PCB) schematics up to 1.2GHz. Review PCB layout to optimize for electromagnetic interference (EMI). Debug PCB boards and prototype consumer electronics products. Analyze large data sets with Python, MATLAB, and JMP software. Characterize electrostatic discharge (ESD) performance to design robust high quality products. Test electrical signal integrity to ensure high quality data transfer from system on chip (SOC) to display. Measure electrical signal timing to validate proper functionality of all integrated circuits (ICs). Characterize organic light emitting diode (OLED) efficiency using semiconductor device physics models. Analyze organic thin film transistor (TFT) efficiency using oscilloscopes and function generators. Work with consumer electronics component vendors. 10% International Travel required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $203,133 - $213,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or any related engineering field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related position.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Guiding and implementing layout for high-speed analog, digital and power electronic circuits using Cadence design and simulation tools
  • Implementing Python and JMP scripts to analyze large quantity data and automate tests
  • Optimizing hardware processes to reduce test time and improve yields to maintain high quality semiconductor and system designs
  • Conducting failure analysis of semiconductor and system level bugs due to manufacturing, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and system reliability design weaknesses
  • Analog circuit design of power supply, display system, and power management integrated circuit (PMIC) in consumer electronics products
  • Validating semiconductor and system level designs by measuring voltage levels and timings with oscilloscopes and waveform analyzers
  • Characterizing and testing semiconductor and system level designs by testing corner silicon parts and comparing performance to typical silicon parts
