Apple Hardware Operations is seeking FEA Simulation Tools and Automation Engineer (Electro-Mechanical domain) to join our team. As a FEA Simulation Tools and Automation Engineer specializing in workflow automation and solver integration, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and deploying automated simulation workflows to model the electro-mechanical performance, reliability, and durability of our products under various operating conditions. Your primary focus will be on leveraging FEA solvers (ANSYS, ANSA, abaqus etc ) and scripting to create robust, efficient, and scalable simulation workflows. Description
As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of automated workflows for model creation, meshing, simulation execution, results processing, and report generation using Python and FEA software APIs. Use FEA solvers (ANSYS, ANSA, Abaqus or similar software) to create seamless automated simulation workflows. Develop and implement automated validation procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of simulation results. Optimize simulation workflows for performance and scalability, enabling efficient execution of large-scale simulations. Document and maintain simulation workflows, scripts, and APIs. Develop and validate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for simulating a wide range of physical phenomena, including but not limited to: structural mechanics, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and electromagnetic simulations. Compare simulation results with physical test data to validate models and improve simulation accuracy. Explore the use of machine learning techniques to develop predictive models based on simulation data and test data. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in simulation techniques, material modeling, scripting languages, FEA software APIs, and relevant machine learning algorithms. Present simulation results, workflow improvements, and recommendations to engineering teams and management.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field along with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Expertise in Finite Element Analysis and computational mechanics.
- At least 3 years of experience with at least one FEA software package: ANSYS, ANSA, Abaqus and or related software.
- Fluency in Python.
- Proficiency with Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn and work in, the electromagnetics domain.
- Significant experience with FEA software APIs for model creation, customization, and workflow automation.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis.
- Experience with web frameworks and services.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing simulation scripts and models.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process optimization.
- Experience with machine learning concepts and libraries.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated to identify areas for improvement and drive innovation
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with passion for creating cutting edge products.
