The HW team is looking for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Manager with strong project management experience in hardware, electronics, fixtures, and test equipment. Solid background in finance, business negotiations, forecasting, and contract manufacturing interactions. Strong analytical capabilities, highly organized, independently motivated, resourceful individual with the ability to prioritize and excel in a fast-paced environment. A successful candidate must be a high-energy tactical execution expert and a great teammate, with a friendly can-do attitude.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent project management skills to lead all aspects of project timelines, plans, budgets, resource allocation, scope, and definition.
  • Experience managing projects of all sizes, including large, complex, cross- functional initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills in addition to the ability to deal effectively with ambiguity.

Description

As the NPI Project Manager, you will plan strategy and coordinate the development and implementation of process and services across Apple products in Hardware Test Engineering (HWTE). You will drive engineering build planning and financial management best practices with internal and cross-functional teams. • Serve as the key point of contact for engineering project specialists (EPS), business operations, global supply managers (GSM), technical leads, finance, contract manufacturers (CM) and others to establish project plans, troubleshoot and resolve project issues. • Manage project budgets, bills of materials (BOM), and readiness from engineering builds to hand off for mass production. • Forecast total cost of projects and initiatives with clear assumptions and rationale. Publish and socialize major changes before each build. • Coordinate and track multiple HW/SW engineering development activities. Provide business judgement and recommendations to help prioritize decisions based on total costs and return on investments. • Create and maintain reports and presentations on a regular basis focused on project schedules and budgets, using data visualization. • Maintain a high level of accuracy, reliability, and credibility in producing data. • Engage actively with individuals and multi-functional teams to ensure that projects are done on time and within budget. • Implement process improvements and scalability tools in above areas. • Work with all levels of leadership. • May require international travel.

Education & Experience

- Requires BS/BA degree, plus at least 2 years related NPI project management experience or equivalent. - Excellent English communication skills required -- both verbal & written.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with OS X. Proficient in Excel. Experience creating Tableau dashboards is a plus! Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work well independently.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,900.00 and $263,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
