Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Drive the end-to-end execution of software development throughout the product development lifecycle and ensure on-time delivery to support hardware programs. Ensure product requirements around power, audio quality, and performance are clearly defined. Develop comprehensive project plans and help pull together timelines so teams can work on software development and validation. Identify and manage cross-functional and program dependencies for Airpods and Assess and track risks across the program to provide assessment to leadership and make decisions on product features. Provide regular status updates using Keynotes, Confluence and JIRA bug tracking tools and drive alignment across the different teams like Bluetooth, Software, Acoustics and Human Interaction. Track all deliverables for a particular software feature, including cross-functional deliverables, using internal tools like Radar, Blip, and Confluence. Work closely with the Feature Direct Responsible Individual to track the status of the SW feature and update the codebase to ensure the work is completed on schedule. Evaluate user impact of SW fixes to determine the relative priority of issues using Quip and Tableau. Interface with Software Program Office, Hardware, or Silicon teams as needed, and provide clear guidelines to engineering teams. Organize a tracking system tree to reflect intermediate achievements &dependencies. Hold daily meetings to track progress on critical bugs and ensure that the team has the right resources to drive them to closure. Understand the overall SW project scope in detail and ensure SW requirements are documented. International travel required 10%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,218 - $213,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
- Experience managing embedded software development, including working on consumer or commercial electronics and understanding software development for hardware products.
- Coordinating with teams to track risks related to schedules and program deliverables.
- Driving convergence on design, timeline, and strategies, including experience in early-stage planning, setting up milestones, and tracking progress.
- Experience breaking down complex software tasks into simple tasks by identifying top-line features and sub-tasks.
- Defining software and firmware requirements for new products and ensuring key features are accounted for.
- Experience in initiating and executing process improvements and forming a quantifiable metrics to track progress and success
- Experience in negotiation including getting buy-in from cross-functional teams, building trust, delegations
- Experience in tackling unexpected failures or issues during project execution on a timely fashion
