We are looking for a highly organized and meticulous Project Manager to join our Data Center efficiency team, passionate about driving infrastructure efficiency through the decommissioning of hardware assets and the management of infrastructure risks.

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for tracking and coordinating server decommissioning activities, ensuring compliance with risk and security standards, and supporting overall infrastructure efficiency initiatives. You'll partner closely with operations, engineering, security, and Finance teams to ensure hardware impacted by infrastructure risks are decommissioned efficiently, securely, and responsibly. Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end tracking of servers and infrastructure components scheduled for decommissioning. Ensure decommissioning activities align with internal policies, compliance requirements, and security standard processes. Work with cross-functional teams to schedule decommissioning efforts without disrupting operations. Identify and track assets that pose infrastructure risks (e.g., under any infrastructure risk in the data centers, aging hardware, unsupported systems, inefficient racks, maintenance needs). Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to raise, mitigate, and track resolution of risks. Maintain detailed documentation of risk exposures and remediation plans. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports tracking decommissioning progress, risk remediation, and infrastructure efficiency SLOs. Provide regular updates to program partners on asset retirement status and risk reduction progress. Provide regular updates to decommission forecast from various lines of business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in data center or infrastructure environments or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data center standards and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of server hardware lifecycle management and infrastructure
  • Demonstrable experience leading technical projects with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, high-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Asana) and data reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Good communication, partner management, and time management skills.
  • Experience working with asset management and decommissioning tools.
  • Knowledge of IT sustainability and responsible recycling practices.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,500 and $181,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
