Description

This critical leadership role will manage programs that ensure the security, resilience, and efficiency of our global data center operations, driving initiatives that minimize risk, improve asset utilization, and streamline end-of-life (EOL) processes for infrastructure. Responsibilities Identify, assess, and manage infrastructure-related risks across all data center sites. Develop and maintain risk registers, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans for hardware and environmental risks. Partner with SREs, Operations, and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure meets security, resiliency, and operational standards. Lead the end-to-end server decommissioning lifecycle, including planning, execution, and documentation. Create scalable processes to manage infrastructure risk assets in accordance with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data sanitization, recycling). Work cross-functionally with logistics, finance, and sustainability teams to optimize decommissioning efficiency and asset recovery. Design and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, including rack utilization, and hardware lifecycle optimization. Drive continuous improvement projects using metrics, SLO, and data analytics to deliver measurable impact on cost, performance, and environmental goals. Benchmark internal operations against industry standards and find opportunities for innovation. Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of program managers and technical specialists. Represent the Data Center Infrastructure Risk and Efficiency program to executive leadership and external partners. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and/or cloud operations.
  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role overseeing infrastructure risks and efficiency planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and/or cloud operations.
  • Demonstrable experience in infrastructure risk management, infrastructure automation, and optimization.
  • Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-tech
  • Hands-on experience with CLI for various tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, containers, and microservices architecture.
  • Solid understanding of network architecture, security, data management, and compliance in cloud environments.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,400 and $301,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
