The Core Platform Bringup team within Apple's CoreOS organization is looking for an extraordinary software engineer to work on state-of-the art technology, debug, and bring-up of next generation of Apple devices, with a focus on Apple Private Cloud Compute hardware platforms. We work on a core technology for Apple. In this role you will have the chance to make a major impact in the way that Apple develops and ships products. Description

Our team plays a key part in all phases of the Private Cloud Compute hardware life cycle, from initial concept through shipping and beyond. You will collaborate with both software and hardware teams to capture requirements, define software features, and design APIs to ensure successful product delivery. Your role spans the a variety of software layers - ranging debugging firmware to developing system daemons and frameworks, culminating in a software platform for server hardware orchestration. As one of the first engineers to bring up new platforms, you'll work directly with hardware subsystems, implementing the critical software infrastructure that manages hardware lifecycle, firmware updates, and system diagnostics. Throughout the product lifespan, you'll drive feature development while maintaining cross-functional partnerships to deliver robust, scalable solutions for Apple's server platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fluent in any of the following higher-level programming languages: C/C++, Go, Rust, Swift
  • Strong understanding of operating systems architecture and systems programming fundamentals
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and data structures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with system daemon, library development, or API design
  • Demonstrated ability to build maintainable, testable, and scalable system software
  • Background with embedded systems or real-time programming
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $126,800 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
