Apple Security Engineering and Architecture (SEAR) is responsible for end-to-end security of all Apple products. As part of our efforts to protect our users from even the most grave digital threats, Apple is seeking an extraordinary individual to work within our Operational Disruption and Intelligence team focused on Civil Society Partnerships. This role will help drive SEAR operations for pro bono support to civil society groups working to counter mercenary spyware, and will support technical, threat intelligence, and engineering initiatives for these groups. An ideal candidate has a background in civil society with experience working closely with engineers, is detail-oriented and analytically minded, has exceptional written and verbal communication skills across multidisciplinary groups, and is known for their follow-through and ability to problem-solve. Description
The SEAR Civil Society Partnership team works to connect with civil society groups and other select external entities to gain insight into the security problems facing civil society and ensure security solutions are accessible and understood by high-risk users. As a member of the Civil Society Partnership program, you will be responsible for a broad portfolio of work, including: Working closely with civil society partners in support of key pro bono projects. Working with security engineers in designing innovative mitigations to cyber threats while preserving privacy, ease-of-use, and user experience. Keeping up-to-date on the latest security problems and threats facing civil society groups to aid in generating innovative ideas to tackle these challenges. Coordinating across a diverse group of individuals providing support to civil society partners. Remote work, with occasional travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Exceptionally collaborative, intellectually curious team player with a genuine passion for working with civil society.
- Experience collaborating and communicating effectively with civil society organizations and engineering teams.
- Familiarity with the cyber threat landscape and digital risks facing civil society organizations and high-risk users.
- Familiarity with security and privacy features available in iOS and macOS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extraordinary written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail, and an ability to manage work with competing priorities and different timescales.
- Self-starting, self-directed, results producing and self-sufficient.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
