In this highly visible role as a key technical member of the Design Methodology and Tools team, you are an integral part of the effort to improve the performance of Apple silicon. You will be responsible for delivering industry-leading solutions for design optimization, design closure, and visualization. Combining algorithm application with practical design know-how and software engineering best practices, you will help to differentiate and streamline Apple's silicon engineering methods.

Key Qualifications

  • Software engineering proficiency with C++, Python, and parallelism
  • Familiarity with machine learning methods and enabling packages such as PyTorch and CUDA
  • Collaborative approach, including a desire to learn, explore, and address interesting challenges
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify high ROI opportunities
  • Course work / relevant experience with optimization algorithms, data modeling, and mathematical representations
  • Good communicator that can accurately describe issues and follow solutions through to completion
  • Familiarity with static timing analysis or VLSI principles is a plus.

Description

The Engineer will: - Deliver methodology and tool solutions to optimize the performance and power of Apple chip designs - Apply data science and analytics to quantify, mine, and predict intriguing patterns - Develop and deploy innovative machine learning approaches to enhance optimization efficiency - Prudently apply best-in-class algorithms and ECO techniques for value-adding design solutions - Implement code to facilitate analytics and visualization - Collaborate with silicon design, CAD, and EDA partners to identify flow deficiencies and enact creative remedies
