Apple's Graphics, Games, and Machine Learning team empowers developers to harness the full potential of the GPU across Apple's ecosystem-including Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. As part of this team in an AI/ML QA Engineering role, you'll collaborate closely with engineers across Apple to build robust tooling and infrastructure for testing machine learning frameworks, GPU drivers, and compute workloads. Your work will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and quality of Apple's ML technologies used by developers to create next-generation AI-driven applications.

Description

We are looking for a results-driven, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual with a strong passion for learning and delivering high-quality work. In this role, you will develop automated testing solutions for machine learning models built using leading frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, and MLX. Your responsibilities will include analyzing model execution to verify functional correctness and performance optimization on Apple Silicon. We seek a highly motivated Automation QA Engineer who is innovative, skilled in scripting and automation, and dedicated to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our AI/ML software stack. Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience using standard ML tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax
  • Proficiency in Swift or Python
  • Proficiency with iOS, macOS or other operating systems such as Unix/Linux
  • Experience with functional and performance testing for both mobile and desktop platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large foundation models LLMs is preferred
  • Familiarity with the complete model development lifecycle, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Familiarity with XCTest and Xcode is a plus

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
